Thank you for visiting our site!
The leaders of the South Asian Affinity group wanted to put together a resource for our community to share and use to learn more about South Asian-American history and culture and how it ties to the Black Lives Matter movement. We hope that this website will allow you to continue unlearning your biases and racial prejudices and educate yourselves on the conditions of minority groups in America.
We want to acknowledge that this website has been created using online sources such as social media, research papers, articles, and more. Additionally, this research barely scrapes the surface of the rich South Asian history, and we are most definitely not experts in the topic.
If there is any information you feel is inaccurate or misrepresentative, please do not hesitate to let one of the leaders know.
Lastly, we wanted to say a special thank you to @southasians4blacklives, an Instagram page dedicated to our very purpose with this website, for inspiring us and so fervently advocating for justice in America. It is initiatives such as yours that make tangible impacts on our world.
We hope you enjoy learning about South Asian-American identity and culture! Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Love,
The Leaders of the South Asian Affinity Group (Emielyn, Raveena, Ayanna, & Anushka)
